Orbital ATK is currently seeking a Principal Radiation Effects Engineer to join our team in Chandler, AZ.
Role description &
Responsibilities:
Principal Radiation Effects Engineer will play a key role in support of new strategic missile development efforts within the Specialty Engineering group. Project will require experience in dose-rate, total ionizing dose, displacement damage dose, and single effects environments (including GCR/HI environments), as well as experience in parts testing for neutron upset and displacement damage, total ionizing dose, and dose rate effects. Must have experience with radiation transport calculations, and with mitigation strategies for severe radiation environments and effects on EEE parts.
Required
Experience:
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or related field with a minimum of 7 years of related experience. PhD desired.
Security clearance required (SECRET or higher) which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
Ability to work in a team environment, and travel occasionally (approx. 20%)
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer community
Ability to solve problems, analyze test results, drive tasks to completion
Experience performing requirements flowdown through specifications
Experience writing and executing test procedures
