Summary:
The NOC Engineer will monitor and troubleshoot network technologies to provide operational support for global data solutions to company users and authorized third-parties. This includes understanding diverse topologies and being able to utilize networking tools to diagnose and communicate issues in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities:
Work in the Network Operations Center to provide support to team of engineers.
Work with IT and business stakeholders to understand environments and provide timely support, as needed
Use existing tools to provide insight and understanding to business stakeholders
First line of defense in identifying network issues and coordinating resolution efforts with team of engineers
Work closely with other team members to meet team goals and improve processes.
Develop network documentation and network standards documents as assigned.
Requirements:
3
years in data center network operations center environment
Experience using Network Monitoring tools to troubleshoot diverse environments
Clear understanding of Fabric Path, vPCs, VDCs, VLANs, subneeting, TCP, IP,DNS,HSRP,VRFs, Virtual Contexts, Security Zones, and Network Segmentation
BGP and OSPF troubleshooting experience in enterprise environment is highly desirable.
Must have experience working with network monitoring tools. For example: Extrahop, ORION, Route Explorer (by PacketDesign), NetScout (a plus), HPNA, and Splunk.
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to work and escalate issues, as needed
Experience with current networking best practices in IT standards and principles.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with packet capture, e.g., Wireshark, and log analysis products
The ability to work under pressure
Commitment to keep up-to-date with IT trends and developments
