Description of project/position:
IBM CPU's and all channels and attached I/O devices Ficon Directors Tape Libraries DASD Storage arrays HMC/Console
Daily Site Support
Manage/Update all technical support documentation Channel/device/director configurations
Respond to error messages and requests to investigate failures/FD Incident Records (IR's).
Provide action plan for repair actions Interface with FD Operations, Support teams (i.e. storage, large systems) for problem determination and issue communication Interface with HW I/O device vendors (i.e. EMC, HDS, IBM) Create FD Change Records (CR's)
Have FD Service Request system access
Follow FD Change guidelines
Manage repair activity/vendors and communicate status as required.
Update IR/CRs.
Special Projects Support
Perform all necessary planning and task identification to support Mainframe upgrades/installations/removals.
Perform all necessary FD Tasks associated with mainframe project; coordinate with associated HW Vendor, FD Operations, FD Support teams following FD Change guidelines; i.e. cable installation and plugging, device configuration, support documentation/tool updates.
