What We're Looking For:
Iridium is seeking a Software Developer III to join our Ground Development team.
As the Software Developer III, you will gain experience in software development and maintenance for the Iridium Ground Control Software and supporting applications and the Iridium Satellite Data Products packaging applications.
Additionally, the Software Developer will work independently to deliver high-quality work and drive projects/deliverables to completion to support all areas of software development within the Satellite Operations and Engineering Development teams.
What You'll Do:
Follow existing Iridium processes for Change Control, Prioritization, Risk Management, COTS Management, Build and Test software deployments and use knowledge to assist in development of process/procedure documentation materials Work with team members to develop optimized code for both scalability and performance Work within the Agile/Scrum framework for SW development (Atlassian tool suite desired) Create or maintain build environments for SW products (including transitioning the L3/Harris InControl software and build environment to Iridium) Work within team objectives to plan and execute software releases per stakeholder/program schedules and budgets Update issue/feature data in Atlassian Project/Software tracking tools Edit, structure and present data, concepts and arguments clearly and succinctly, through briefings and documentation Develop intermediate knowledge of InControl (Satellite Control Software), Iridium's custom Data Repository/Retrieval system and Iridium's custom System Control SW Respond to questions within scope from stakeholders Experience & Education Requirements / EEO:
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or related engineering discipline Minimum of 5 years' software programming experience Strong coding experience on Agile based teams Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present information to team members An analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with solutions Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed The ability to establish valuable relationships with team members and managers The ability to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work Proactivity in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge, including the ability to learn the different software that make up the System Performance and Analysis software Ability to comprehend technical documentation Have a positive attitude to take on ever increasing S/W development tasks.
Passion for working in a team driven environment consisting of operators, SW testers, senior developers, and system engineers.

Must be a US Citizen Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office.
The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer.
The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer.
For meetings in-person, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
