Oldcastle Precast is looking at individuals who have worked in Inside Sales and dealt with Construction/Manufacturing/industrial/General Contracting communities. This person will grow into a Civil Utility Estimator with our plant in Chandler, Arizona. The position reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for reviewing plans and specs, completing scope of work and material takeoff in the Public Works and Commercial utility markets, organize project handoff with the sales team.
Job Description Summary
The Inside Sales / Jr. Estimator is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications and working with clients and vendors to prepare bids, write proposals, and identify opportunities and leads.
Assist with material/product takeoff using estimating software.
Help prepare and review Scope of Work with the Sales Team.
Developing and maintaining automated tools to improve job efficiency.
Assist customers by providing technical solutions, identify and communicate Value Engineering Opportunities, preparing proposals, handling customer inquiries and work with sales team to generate sales quotations based on your takeoff.
Searching construction plans, online plan rooms, and websites for obtaining bidders lists & identifying potential work.
Inputting sales orders.
Answering customer questions on the phone.
Tracking jobs quoted and doing follow up work.
Calling customers on leads Requirements.
Strong technical aptitude, with construction background.
Strong understanding and ability to use and improve existing technology to complete job functions.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in Inside sales / customer account management / estimating or project management.
Proficient in basic Microsoft Office Programs (word, excel, access, outlook).
Knowledge of how to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Self-disciplined.
